The Rubicon Models 1/56 scale Panzer II Ausf. A/B/C/F model kit provides an accurate and detailed representation of one of the key German light tanks used during World War II. Historical Significance: The Panzer II, officially designated Panzerkampfwagen II (PzKpfw II), played a crucial role in the early stages of World War II. Initially designed as a stopgap while more advanced tanks were developed, the Panzer II became the most numerous tank in German Panzer divisions during the Polish and French campaigns. It was also deployed in North Africa and on the Eastern Front. Although it was eventually supplanted by the Panzer III and IV medium tanks, the Panzer II continued to serve in training roles and on secondary fronts. Its chassis was also repurposed for self-propelled artillery and tank destroyers.

Production and Deployment: A total of 1,856 Panzer II tanks were produced between 1934 and January 1944, excluding conversions. By the end of 1942, the Panzer II had largely been removed from front line service, but its chassis remained in use for other military vehicles. Despite being replaced by more advanced tanks, the Panzer II continued to see limited use until the end of the war.
